Industry Applications of Business Analytics
Introduction:
To remain competitive, firms across industries including manufacturing, customer service, marketing, training, pricing, security, and operations have invested in analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to keep pace with existing peers and digitally native market entrants. On one hand, these technologies can enhance performance and greatly reduce workload by utilizing novel AI methods on big data which are unrealistic with traditional statistics methods. On the other hand, the reliance of these models on historical data, which many crises rendered nearly useless in some cases by driving drastic changes in human and market behaviors, makes them far from perfect. In this complex and fast-moving environment, industry applications of business analytics need to be strengthened with emerging techniques including bias, fairness, and instability monitoring and modeling. The topics on the trade-offs of performance and interpretability as well as new and alternative data for predictive and risk analytics are also crucial to the sustainability of AI-based approaches for business analytics. This special session focuses on, but is not limited to the following topics:
- Case Studies of Artificial Intelligence, Business Intelligence, and Analytics Technologies for Industry Applications
- Machine Learning and Predictive Analytics in Accounting, Finance, and Management
- Data, Text, and Social Media Mining for Business Analytics
- Data-driven Applications in Manufacturing: Management, Engineering, and Organizational Transformation
- Intelligent Decision Support for Logistics and Supply Chain Management
- Decision Support for Logistics and Supply Chain Management
- Large-scale vehicle routing, Routing, Inventory, empty container repositioning, and (customers, orders) clustering Problems.
- Applications for novel e-systems such as e-logistics and e-supply chain, smart manufacturing.
Paper Submission
The papers of this session will be printed in the proceedings of the main conference, which will be published by IEEE and be available at the conference. Papers should be submitted through the online paper submission system: The authors are invited to submit their full papers by the deadline through the KSE 2023 submission page http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=kse2023. The submissions will be peer-reviewed for originality and scientific quality. The proceedings will be published by IEEE (pending) and be available at the conference. Papers should follow the LaTeX series format as described on IEEE’s website (http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html) and should not exceed 6 pages. Select Session: Industry Applications of Business Analytics and Operations Research The submissions will be peer-reviewed for originality and scientific quality. Accepted papers will be selected to publish in high-ranked journals in ISI/SCOPUS.
